Hawks(Chiefs)/Bulls vs Giants

The Hawks A(Chiefs)/Bulls vs Belfas Giants game on 29th August finished in favor for Giants team – 10 : 3. Although the score was quite high the game was very interesting to watch. If we remember the last year game against the Giants team, where most of the time the puck was controled by Giants team, this year Hawks/Bulls team suprised Giants with a lot faster and better game skills. The Giants team really enjoyed to play this game, and would like to come to play again. Lately it has become a tradition to play with a Giants team every year a friendly game before the season start. And as confirmed by the Giants team the would like to keep up this tradition.
Belfast Giants have become a couple of times the champions of the English Elite Ice Hockey Legue in last years and it is a great honor to play with them. To find out more about Belfast Giants team click here.

Hawks A become Charlestown Chiefs

Staring new season the Hawks A team will become Charlestown Chiefs and one of the team coaches will be Ned Dowd. As Charlestown on Ice is the teams main Sponsor all the home games will take place in Charlestown on Ice arena in Dublin. Hokeja nākotne pašu hokejistu rokās

Svētdien, 30. augustā pulksten 14.00 Spa Hotel, Lucan notiks ikgadējā Īrijas hokeja federācijas (Irish Ice Hockey Association – IIHA) pilnsapulce, kurā viens no galvenajiem jautājumiem būs IIHA vadības pārvēlēšanas. Viens no pretendentiem uz IIHA prezidenta amatu ir arī William Fay – Īrijas hokeja galvenais tiesnesis (Referee-in-Chief).
William Fay ir sava strikti izstrādāta programma, kuru, ievēlēšanas gadījumā, viņš apsola realizēt. Fay kungs ar portāla baltic-ireland.ie starpniecību vēlas darīt zināmu visiem latviešu valodā lasošajiem hokejistiem savu programmu. Tātad, ja William Fay tiks ievēlēts par IIHA prezidentu, viņš apsola:
* izstrādāt un ieviest jaunu Īrijas čempionāta formātu, spēļu kalendāru sastādīt uz visu sezonu, tādā veidā izskaužot situāciju, kad komandām piezvana trešdienā, lai pateiktu, ka spēle būs ceturtdien (kā tas bieži vien bija līdz šim);
* attīstīt bērnu un jauniešu hokeju, piesaistot ne tikai īru jauno paaudzi, bet arī latviešus, slovākus, čehus u.t.t.;
* nodrošināt sakarus ar medijiem, t. sk. ar mazākumtautību valodās strādājošajiem;
* uzlabot IIHA mājas lapu, t. sk. maksimāli ātri publicēt spēļu rezultātus un apkopot spēlētāju TOP dažādās kategorijās;
* atklātu un produktīvu sadarbību ar visām komandām, neatkarīgi no spēlētāju tautības vai “draugu būšanas”;
* turpināt sarunas ar Latvijas Hokeja federācijas prezidentu Kirovu Lipmanu par ikgadējās transfēra maksas atcelšanu Latvijas hokejistiem;
* atbalstīt dažādas komandu iniciatīvas, kas nav tieši saistītas ar hokeju (kā piemēru Fay kungs minēja hokeja kluba “Latvian Hawks” sezonas noslēguma pasākumu);
* turpināt uzlabot Īrijas hokeja tiesnešu darbu un veicināt viņu kvalifikācijas celšanu;
* veicināt latviešu, slovāku, čehu un citu tautību spēlētāju integrēšanos Īrijas hokejā.
Ja spēlētāji vēlas uzlabojumus Īrijas hokejā, William Fay aicina IIHA pilnsapulcē balsot par viņu kā par prezidentu.

Hawks B vs Icebreakers 8 : 3

This was the first friendly game before the IIHLDD 2009/2010 season start for Hawks B team. The game ended with score 8:3 in favor of Hawks B team. Hawks B team was equiped with four full Lines, so there was no problem to keep the Game on high speed. In Hawks B team the goals were scored by:
